High Dynamic SHUTON COMPLEX
The new designs of SHUTON ballscrews have considerably increased dynamic and static load capacities, as well as dynamic rigidity, with a lower friction; along with this, the preload torque and the generated temperature have been enhanced.
The Double Nut consists of two parts separated by a washer whose thickness determines the preload force. SHUTON embeds these two pieces so as to cancel any run out, thus improving alignment and concentricity.
These High dynamic ballscrews do not have DN limit, provided they meet certain conditions regarding alignment, assembly and lubrication.
Because of improved temperature, the rotation of the ballscrews can be increased without fear of overheating. The increased rigidity allows for a better drive and along with that a machine with greater natural frequency, thus improving the control parameters Kv, Kp, Ki of the servomotor, improving acceleration and dynamics of the machine.

TDCer: with ceramic ball
Ceramic balls with the same nut sizes can also be used.
Advantages of ballscrews with ceramic balls
- The dynamic load is increased by 25% to 30%. The result is that the fatigue life of the ballscrew is doubled.
- Increases the axial rigidity by 10% to 15%. You can obtain a greater increase by applying a higher preload, but then the fatigue life does not increase as much.
- Due to the characteristics of the ceramic material, the temperature rise of the nut is reduced by 5 to 10 º C.
- As the temperature drops, the rotation speed can be increased without danger of overheating.
- Wear of the balls is reduced, so that the loss of preload over time is also reduced, thus extending maintenance intervals.
- It reduces the noise produced by the balls when going through the recirculation systems.
Disadvantages of ballscrews with ceramic balls
- Ballscrews must be treated with extreme care as ceramic balls may break in collisions and seriously damage the ballscrew.
- The cost of ceramic balls is quite high compared to those of steel.
