This extension means that Shuton now has over 6000 square metres fitted with the latest generation machinery, recently acquired and which will enable production capacity to increase by over 50%.

About 150 people were present at the act, which was presided over by Jorge Arriola, President of the Maherholding Group (to which Shuton belongs), Roberto Mielgo, Managing Director of Shuton, and Pako Juaristi, Commercial Director.

In his speech, Roberto Mielgo declared that "during 2007, we increased our turnover by 32% and exports by 85%". Growth in orders in 2007, and a favourable international climate until mid-2008 meant that we had to extend our facilities. We needed to do away with our limited space if we were to continue providing solutions to the ever more demanding challenges posed by our customers for production, service, rapidity and response to deliveries".

The Commercial Director, Pako Juaristi, wished to highlight Shuton's dedication to exports, a feature that has been there since the company's beginning in 1934. Currently, sales efforts are focusing on keeping Europe as the main market and developing commercial networks in India, China, Korea and Japan to the full.

All those attending had the opportunity to see first-hand a large sample of the new Shuton Complex ballscrew, the ballscrews with the highest ridity, leaders in high dynamic machine tool industry.
